Assistance to the Children living in Difficult Circumstances; Follow up Field Work No.1

Some years ago, a team of Baan Dekdee Nong Khai (former name before registration to be FCYD Foundation) had paid a visit to a family living in Nong Nang Sub-district, Thabor district, Nong Khai province. Public health volunteer; ‘Mrs. Nootrai’; our representative gave some basic information about this family members. That day we met many children and three (3) of them were sons and daughter of Mrs. Daeng (or Mae Daeng). The mother ‘Daeng’ and the grandmother helped taking care their 3 kids by earning from small works for example of wages from growing rice, cultivating sugarcane trees and home-based charcoal production for selling. Her husband; father of the children passed away caused of cancer many years ago. The family condition was so poor and quite difficult to support the children in every aspect of health and education. We encouraged the mother ‘Daeng’ and gave her as scholarship for the children before leaving that day. Today (July 2015) FCYD team has a good chance to come back and visit a family of mother ‘Daeng’ at the same house. Little kids that day now have grown up a lot. The eldest daughter ‘Duang’ now 14 years old and study in Mattayom 2 (grade 8), the first son ‘Peem’ now 12 years old and study Pratom 6 (grade 6) and the youngest one ‘Gafill’ 9 years old and study Pratom 4 (grade 4). Everyone look so excited and joyful to see FCYD team and still remember ‘Kru Neh’ (Kru = teacher). FCYD member we have Mr. Martin Schicht; our advisor for funding in German and his family also join the visit today. Today, the grandmother was passed away from the children. It’s only mother ‘Daeng’ to take care them all alone with the same wages as ever been experienced. However, it’s quite good that the elder children are able to help their mother in different home-activities. The visit day, we have used clothes we received from good-heart people for the children. They are very happy to choose and match each shirt and trouser with their body-size. It’s really happy times for them we can see it from their laughs and smiles. Before leaving, Mr. Martin as FCYD representative presented scholarship in order to mitigate hard-family situation as well as general support to have the children better opportunity for health and education as good as it gets. FCYD Foundation, we are working closely with local network in order to help children who are living in difficult circumstances.
