1. A boy “Nong Sea Pol-athip”; 10 years old, he’s been sick since born with Thalassemias. Children born with thalessemia major are normal at birth, but develop severe anemia during the first year of life. Other symptoms can include bone deformities in the face, fatigue, growth failure, shortness of breath, yellow skin (jaundice). Persons with the minor form of alpha and beta thalassemia have small red blood cells but no symptoms. Father and mother of Nong Sea did not know this at all because they separated and move away to live in other region since he was new born. Then, parenting duty has been belonged to the grandparents who he calls them Dad & Mom instead. The family is quite in poor condition, because only major household income is from general wages, responsible by grandfather. He has some technical electrical knowledge that allows him to do some small maintenance works for wages.
2. Even though a poor household condition is a root cause that impacted to quality of lives of the children. However, responsible parents are greatest supports to ensure good resilience of their kids. The parents with less or lack of education do not have good chance of income generation but just small wages from construction, rice growing & harvesting and general labor or coolie.
