Milk allergy, one of the most common food allergies in children, is an abnormal response by the body’s immune system to milk and products containing milk. Cow’s milk is the usual cause, but milk from sheep, goats, buffalo and other mammals also can cause a reaction. An allergic reaction usually occurs minutes to hours after consuming milk. Signs and symptoms of milk allergy range from mild to severe and can include wheezing, vomiting, hives and digestive problems. Sometimes, milk allergy can cause anaphylaxis — a severe, life-threatening reaction. Avoidance is the primary treatment for milk allergy. Fortunately, most children outgrow a milk allergy. Those who don’t outgrow it may need to continue to avoid milk products. At Orphanage House of Baan Mitmuan Dek, there are 2 children allergic to cow’s milk. Due to its expensive price higher than other normal ones , it’s difficult and being problem of Baan Mitmuan Dek to procure it. The Fellowship Foundation for Child and Youth Development (FCYD) would like to thank you to whoever donate money into the FCYD’s donation boxes which are located in different shops and offices in Nong Khai town. The received donation this time (1st quarter from Jan to March 2015) and based on the given advice from Baan Mitmuan Dek, we purchased special powdered milk that physically suit to the children. This time, we purchased the 4 big cans at 3,120-Baht and donated it to Mother Noi, the BMMD’s Guardian. Thank you everyone who share this donation with us to help these children. Blessing you all… Breast-feeding is the best source of nutrition for your child, but these children do not have mothers with them. They can’t have the best choice of milk… Again, thank you for your donation. Who want to help Baan mitmuan Dek, please contact to FCYD at the given telephone numbers…. _/_/_/_
