Review meeting to develop early childhood teachers according to the 3 Accelerate, 3 Reduce, 3 Increase policy and foundational knowledge in 3 dimensions for early childhood development (Self + EF + Developmental growth) at Napong Municipal Kindergarten, Mueang District, Loei Province
The development of early childhood according to the principles of Executive Function (EF) emphasizes the keyword “Self.” This is a crucial structure and foundation that allows young children to grow well in body, mind, and intellect. However, to have a good sense of self, there are other important components involved, starting from pregnancy, breastfeeding, and nurturing with love and affection. This helps the child trust the mother and, in turn, trust the world, fostering a sense of safety and readiness to develop in all aspects.
But preschool children in rural areas – we must say that most of the time, the real parents do not raise the children in their daily lives. Instead, it is the grandparents who take care of the little grandchildren as they did with the children’s parents before. This creates limitations and difficulties in “creating a true mother” and poses obstacles in building a good self for preschool children. As ECCD teachers who receive children aged 2 and above into early childcare centers, what can we do to strengthen the children’s self-according to EF principles? This meeting serves as a platform for exchanging knowledge and reviewing the core principles of the three-dimensional foundational knowledge, as well as a discussion to brainstorm ideas on what we, as early childhood educators, can do in accordance with the 3 Accelerate, 3 Reduce, 3 Increase policy.
Thank you to the Napong Municipality Kindergarten for providing the venue for the meeting and for introducing the play-learn-know activity base to the early childhood teachers who attended this meeting. Thank you
