After returning from school every day, the children help Grandma Jim boil peanuts and pack them into bags to sell at markets and various restaurants along the Mekong River in Nongkhai town.
“Please ask politely and respectfully, if the adults don’t buy, it’s okay. Don’t insist or pressure them, because they might get upset and scold us,” Teacher Neh, the president of the FCYD Foundation, taught the children.
“Grandma, you also need to be very careful. Riding a motorcycle in the late evening and at nite is quite dangerous.”
“Most importantly, don’t stay out too late because the kids need to rest and go to school in the morning.”

Children helping their parents earn extra income within an appropriate context is a good thing and also enhances various life skills, especially in terms of career skills that can be further developed in the future. The FCYD Foundation wishes to offer scholarships and household items as encouragement and support for a good life ahead. Thank you to everyone who donated clothes, dolls, and toys. This time, the foundation has distributed them to Grandma Jim’s family and the children.
